"And for now, I will destroy the jail, so please stand back."
Patrick said as he pulled out the sword on his waist.
After confirming that the three had moved back, I swung my sword twice.
Several iron bars fell with a clatter.
"Thank you for your help this time. I will be sure to return the favor."
The old man who called himself Carlos said.
"It was because of the mission, please don't mind it."
Patrick replied.
"No, my master will be properly informed."
"No, really, I'm just acting on a mission."
"Did you introduce yourself as Rigsby earlier?"
(Oh, we have a bad reputation, don't we? We are getting ours just deserts.)
"Yes, it's the Rigsby family. I'm ashamed to say it. My name is Patrick, the third son. Well, it's like I've been kicked out of the house, so there's no need to worry about that family!"
I had to say it properly here.
"In that case, thank you personally, Lord Patrick."
"No, I was just on a mission."
And here came the quiet boy.
"Lord Patrick must receive thanks from the Marquees family, or else the Marquees family will lose face. Of course I will thank your subordinates as well, but you are the commander, aren't you?" - He said.
(Hoh, he's quite a clever boy for such a young age. As expected of the Marquees' family. Or rather, from the sound of his voice, I'm certain it's a boy.)
Patrick thought to himself.
"Tentatively, I'm in charge of this company." - I replied.
"It's quite an accomplishment to be a commander at such a young age." - Carlos said.
"Then I still have to formally thank you, Lord Patrick. Even though you were on military duty, it doesn't change the fact that you saved me!"
I thought it would be rude to keep refusing him too much.
"I understand. The bare minimum will do."
And I bowed my head.
"All right, let's get back to the road! We'll confiscate their weapons and their loot, pack up their things Wayne. Those are your orders!"
"Yes, sir! Second Lieutenant Patrick!"
Patrick replied with a wry smile to Wayne, who was speaking in a more formal manner, perhaps because he was in front of the third son of the marquis family.
